This morning was our included Panoramic Tour of Barcelona. First we viewed part of the city from a bus.
Then we entered the alleys leading towards the area around the cathedral.
Of course there’s a cathedral.
Inside the cathedral, I found an interesting use of technology: electric votive candles. Drop coins into the slot. The more you drop, the more candles light up.
Outside the church was a stand-up harp player. The music reminds me of the Andes music I often hear from street performers. I bought my wife a CD, so she may have something to say about it later.
After the tour, we went back to the hotel. After lunch, I was going to wander the city. However, the bus driver was on break. There wasn’t going to be enough time for me to seriously wander, so I had a relaxing afternoon.
That evening, we had a music and dance group come play for us. It was a lot of fun. Lisa and my mother even danced.
